Jay Sekulow is an accomplished lawyer, and he and his
Anti-ACLU outfit, the "ACLJ," have even argued cases before
the U.S. Supreme Court. (Almost **always** AGAINST personal
liberties.)

So -- even though he's **misguided** and **hateful** enough
to be an RRR cultist... he is NOT an ignorant person.

But whenever he WHINES about same- marriage, he uses
this SAME phrase over and over again: "unelected judges"...
"unelected judges"... "unelected judges"... "unelected judges"...
ad nauseum.

A phrase you'll NEVER hear him utter is: "checks and balances."

(That would be HONEST!)

AS an accomplished lawyer, he KNOWS that the Constitution
purposely **calls** for appellate court judges TO be appointed!
It's a fundamental and constitutional part of our system!

So he's either an ignoramus... which we've ruled out -- OR he's a
LIAR, for directly implying that the judges in Massachusetts who
declared the INCLUSION of same- couples in marriage to be
constitutional got there IMPROPERLY. And that they didn't have
the RIGHT to interpret the Constitution in that manner.

The RRR ***counts*** on its being able to pander to the small
percentage of the population that is profoundly ignorant, and prey
upon the gullibility that goes along with that unfortunate condition.
To sway them into supporting their loathsome agendas against
personal liberties and human rights.

FORTUNATELY -- **Most** Americans ARE intelligent enough
to *recognize* Sekulow's dishonesty for being just that -- and to
recognize that this "unelected judges" CRAP is precisely that:
dishonest CRAP that's been crafted to make the country's most
ignorant people believe that appellate court judges aren't *sup-
posed* to be appointed... and that those judges' CORRECT
interpretation of the Constitution was something OTHER than
a case of their having done their job **properly.**

RRR : society :: 5% arsenic solution : glass of drinking water

Dangerous as hell... poisonous to our liberties... and
unconscionably hateful and sociopathic.

He's a lawyer .....

either of which should be enough to question ANYTHING he says.

Very true!! The RRR cult refers to the judges who disagree with
them as "activist" judges... as though "activist" is supposed to be
some sort of pejorative term. (Compare "activist" to "lazy." Any
appellate judge who does NOT actively do his job right, is the
latter.)

And to the RRR cult -- while judges who properly interpret
the Constitution with an eye to defending our personal liberties
are hatefully referred to as "activist" judges... the judges who
callously IGNORE parts of the Constitution which COULD be
used to defend our liberties, with an eye INSTEAD to serving
the loathsome and repressive agendas of the RRR... are called
"constructionist" judges.

If the RRR weren't so good at LYING, they wouldn't be good
for anything at all. With "friends" like the RRR infesting our
nation, Americans don't need any enemies. They are as threat-
ening to our liberties as the EXternal terrorists are to our
infrastructure.

Good point, once again, my dear, darling Craig!

And just as a further note -- ya gotta wonder if these assloaves shit
their brains out piecemeal or all at once, because they obviously
haven't noticed that these same "activist" judges are the ones who
consistently rule on their side in matters of religious freedoms, like
when their offspring (usually from the first of their five marriages)
want to wear the replicas of their dead savior on a stick to public
school.
Of course, they also piss and moan (usually in a strong backdraft)
about the ACLU, the only people who pity the assloaves enough to argue
their cases in court for them -- FOR FREE, no less.
It just boggles my mind. But you wait and see -- if (Gong Gong forbid)
they get their way and have these eeeeevil activist judges removed or
replaced with what they think they want, they are going to howl like
wounded banshees when the replacement judges start curtailing their
own liberties.
Of course, by that time, I will be laughing at them from my new
country of residence, grateful that I got the fuck out in time.
But that's just me.

with hatefulness and abject ignorance.

The greatest danger to America's personal liberties NOW (since
Bush unfortunately got himself barely elected) is for retiring Supreme
Court justices to be replaced with ones who ARE cultists of the
"Religious" Radical Right... who then will proceed to "theocratize"
America right OUT of being a free country.

That is something that the PEOPLE absolutely MUST finally get
off their apathetic butts about, and OPPOSE --- ***VIGOROUSLY***.

Freedom isn't free, and we're in grave danger of being taught
that lesson again. THIS time, from WITHIN.

Uhm, yeah, and most of them got shot in the head.
Being the paranoid (or maybe not) person that I am, I fully expect
that Dumbya will declare martial law sometime during late '05 05 early
'06, citing yet another foe from within, and this time it will include
GLBT people.

But what's to stop Dumbya from doing a little executive order,
installing the judges? Remember, we've got a RepubliCUNT congress, so
a veto would be highly unlikely.

Yup. And anyone who doesn't see the signs needs to get the sight back

Just as I was about to respond here, one of those little pieces of
advice that NBC-TV gives ("The more you know...") came on:

"Two things to avoid around the house: hate and prejudice.

NEVER let them in!"

That says it ALL!!

I'll re-post an admonition that I put up BEFORE the disastrous
election, that covers what we may be in for in more depth. We can't
undo the election (unfortunately) -- but knowing what we now must
deal with, may help us to strategize better.

It's entitled:

Next Supreme Court Justice: Affirmation of Liberty,
or Unthinkable Tyranny will Result.

I just now posted it, and it'll be on your server in all of the
newsgroups that this thread is reaching.

In keeping with my being scrupulously honest in my posts (to the
unceasing frustration of the RRR cultists who'd just LOVE to catch
me in a slip-up in that regard... but never can)... I was allowing for
the possibility that the mistake-makers might not come up with ALL
of the *same* mistakes to repeat. :)

Every time a person supports bigotry in public, and presents NO
relevant FACTS to back his/her stance in behalf of a loathsome
agenda against individual liberties and human rights, that person
has -- ironically -- further **damaged** the cause he/she supports.

And every time a fair-minded and sensible egalitarian opposes
such a bigot, publicly, and **presents** relevant FACTS that are
damaging to the bigot's agenda, that TOO is an additional nail in
the coffin lid of the agenda, and a push of that casket CLOSER
to the Drain of Extinction -- its well-deserved ultimate destination.

I hope that it stays active. As it stands, there are too few checks on
the new voting machines, and there are too many ways to add cheats into
the system that make sure a particular candidate or party wins which
are also undetectable UNLESS you know what you are looking for. And I
know of what I speak, my Masters in in Applied Computer Science.

Simple, straight forward ways that checks could be added into the
system that would make such cheating and "ballot box stuffing" harder
to do. And to the best of my knowledge, none of these additions would
threaten voter privacy, while they would make cheating harder.

1=2E the programming becomes open source, so everyone can check the
validity and security of the code, especially for hidden traps and
changes on the tallying on the fly.

2=2E Every voter gets a time stamped, bar coded printout of their votes.
Simple register tape would do, and is freely available.
2=2Ea. As the paper tape is made for the voter, and identical tape is
make to store in the machine.
2=2Eb. A reader is available at the voting site that is programmed to
read the voter's tape, and display whom they voted for.
2=2Ec. The voter can all request that his/her votes from the machine be
read using a hand-held reader if a possible discrepancy has appeared.
The access to this can be through a glass plate over the tape, and a
locked door with an access counter.
2=2Ed. If the voter thinks that there is a discrepancy, the voter can
feed his "receipt" back into the machine, where the machine displays
the previous votes, and then voids the old votes on the permanent tape,
and preferably on the voter's tape. The voter can then vote again.
2=2Ee. In order to keep the ballot box stuffing down (I am not naive
enough to think that you can do away with it completely), a change in
ballot can only be down on the same machine (which is NOT encoded into
the voter's tape) and within a certain amount of time, say 10 - 15
minutes.

3=2E The use of the paper tape can aid in recounts, since the tape can be
fed through a reader, and checked rapidly. If a hand recount is
needed, the tape can be checked by the same type of hand readers that
are used on site.

The biggest problems with the current machines by Diebold (besides the
fact that the Board includes friends of Bush), is that there is no way
to check the votes besides the electronic tally, and there are too many
ways to mess with the machines internally. That is why so many people
were against the use of the machines this year.
