Troops kill Iraqi couple in front of children

An Iraqi man and his wife have been shot dead in front of their five
children by US soldiers who fired on the car in which the family was
travelling.

The children survived but emerged from the car spattered with blood,
screaming and traumatised. The soldiers tended to them and brought them
to hospital.

The incident happened in Tal Afar, near Mosul, in northern Iraq, late
on Tuesday.

According to the US military, soldiers with the 1st Battalion, 5th
Infantry Stryker Brigade Combat Team of the 25th Infantry Division out
of Fort Lewis, Washington, fired on the car when it failed to stop and
came towards soldiers, despite warning shots, during a dusk patrol.

The US forces' press service said the military extended its condolences
for the incident, but added that "the military must take appropriate
action against possible threats" because of the prevalence of car
bombs. [These threats of course would not exist if the foreign invading
army, which is what
we are in Iraq, would stop its occupation-by-military-force of oil-rich
Iraq]

The incident was witnessed by Chris Hondros, a photographer, who
recorded it in a series of dramatic pictures. They show how troops shot
dead the driver and one passenger - husband and wife, apparently, but
unnamed in the photograph captions.

The five children in the rear of the car survived, with only one being
slightly injured by a bullet. The military said it was investigating
what happened.

Do you understand that there are checkpoints in Iraq put up
by robbers, where if you stop they will kill you and take your
money and goods? It was *dusk*. If you had your kids in the
back, how would you choose?

Interesting, isn't it? They whine and complain about the troops
getting killed, then whine and complain when the troops act to prevent
it. I think they really don't care what happens, they just want to
hine and complain.

The murders of the parents in front of their children did not prevent

A car full of Iraqis approaching American troops (or another Iraqi that
disagrees with the terrorist for that matter) that fail to yield to warnings
not to approach are a threat. Under other circumstances, than yes, they are
not a threat. Context. Think within the context of reality.

Bush has no right to be telling any Iraqis what to do or not,
much less slaughtering the innocents there.

He's no better than his family's hero Hitler, and, if permitted,
