 | I must admit that this wasn't one of my better picks. Still, I only spent a thousand dollars on it and maybe maybe it will go up again. Typically I put $20K into a stock and see how it goes, but Metal Storm looked like a high risk proposition. Santos and Gazal both did very well - my best performers. P&O has gone up 25% in a year and pays nice dividends.
NAB was doing great until their little scandal with foreign investments, but at least it's climbed back up to what I paid for it.
Lake was a bit of a clunker. Bought at what Dolby eventually offered for it, and so there was no profit in it. I expect Metal Storm to go the same way. Someone will wait until they are desperate and make a takeover offer based on their average price over the previous year, which will be around 25c a share I guess. Oh well, at least I won't have dropped too much!
Managed to be on board for the National Foods and WMC takeover offers, That was a nice little earner in an exciting day!
All told, for every non-performer like Metal Storm or Lake, I've got two or three that pay well. Which is about what you'd expect given the current strength of the market.
Pete, certainly no market wizard, but doing nicely, thanks!

Lucas, the dam' thing's at 24 and a half cents and the trend is solidly downhill. I might have blown five hundred bucks, but you've got your entire fortune tied up in this turkey. It's not going to declare a dividend any time soon and the market doesn't think much of its prospects. Short of some mass act of rumour-fed madness, the only way to make money from Metal Storm is to play off the cents and half cents as it slides ever downwards.
Eventually someone like Colt will pick it up for the patents, and they aren't going to be offering anything like what you and I paid for it.
Get real.
Pete
