 | Alternative energy sources are ready already. Lithium Sulphur batteries capable of allowing electric cars to go 300 miles per charge are just around the corner. Fuel/cells are real, in fact the first fuel cell cars are hitting the market this year and hydrogen fueling stations are starting to be built. At this point it's just a matter of having the will to implement the rapidly developing alternative energy option. Alt.energy's time has come.
Of course if so many Americans weren't PROGRAMMED to believe we actually have to fight wars in the Mid East for oil and that alt.energy is still a pipe dream, then alt.energy would be much further along at the moment. The DEPROGRAMMING will start shortly and we will be freed of the looming oil crises. Why? Because the price of oil will force people to seek alternatives.

and where would the electric companies get their power to produce electricity for these lithium batteries that run electric cars??...the sources are usually oil or atomic power....and can batteries power jumbo jets?....trucks? apartment houses? factories?....oil is expensive and is likely to become more so as it becomes less available.....atomic power produces atomic waste which stays with us for some time...windmills are limited and take up a great deal of space which is limited in many areas of the u.s. or europe for that matter.....coal requires storage and is a pollutant...best known way so far is conservation until our technology find a way to successfully replace oil...... and conservation will become more difficult with time as 3rd world countries compete for the oil pie.....there is no freedom from the rise in oil prices.....and no easy fix from alternative energy...electric cars are the cars of the future and of now.....as are many other products that can be found, such as lower wattage electric bulbs....heat pumps, solar.......but together they represent a drop in the bucket....
the hype is on for alternative energies and has been so for decades....but it is a dream to think it will replace oil anytime in the foreseeable future or when oil is slated to run out......conservation will extend our time somewhat.....don't drive an suv, lower your thermostat in winter, raise it in summer or replace with a fan....don't take wasteful trips...consume less....and just maybe.................oh yes hydrogen power.......hopefully long term most of the problems will be resolved....in the meanwhile, storage and expense are a major problem.....
