 | Why is it that kids are moving into puberty earlier these days than when lets say in the 1980's? I've heard this theory but cannot explain it.

The last thing I read on the subject is that this is something "everybody knows" that is not completely supported by any real evidence. Some secondary characteristics ARE appearing earlier, and one theory is that it has to do with the hormones that we feed our food animals that makes its way in SOME amount into our diets. However, the average age of the onset of menstruation has not changed. -- Children won't care how much you know until they know how much you care
