 | I would like to monitor LAN traffic to and from my network and ADSL modem link. So far all I can find are programs such as DU Meter which only monitor traffic on the PC that the program is installed on. As I have a number of PCs, short of adding up the totals on each PC, it'd be nice if there was some solution to monitor traffic between the Netgear switch (mentioned in earlier dispatches) and the Netcom NB1300 ADSL modem.
Anyone here know of such a beast?

Does your modem have SNMP?

Looks like it monitors all traffic. I'm looking for something that monitors internet traffic only.

It doesn't monitor multiple machines though, only multiple adapters on one (or each) machine.
I think the OP wants to monitor his connection

So it may appear. > > I think the OP wants to monitor his connection
That's correct. I don't trust the ISP's bandwidth monitor. It'd be nice if I could run something that monitored what the modem did. Or better yet, that the modem's builtin sofware was able to log data throughput and save summaries, etc.

People suggest that it might. Thing is, I don't know what it is....

 | You might have a look at MRTG (http://people.ee.ethz.ch/~oetiker/webtools/mrtg/) - this will regularly poll your modem using SNMP, and create a usage graph. From the quick look I had on Netcomm's site, seems like your modem supports SNMP, so you should be in luck.

Yep, and the website gave me a headache, let alone the app itself.
Sorry, but I don't have the time, nor the inclination to get into that level of "hands on" application handling, these days. Just want something that I can click on and install...

I'm having a look at it now. How does it monitor traffic in and out of my ADSL modem to all PCs connected to it via the switching hub?

It also only monitors adapters on 1 machine, no good for what you want (I would like the same functionality so I've tried all the stuff in the reply posts to your orig post, nothing yet).
