G'day

I am now using Mozilla Firefox as my default browser as I have been unable
to resolve the 'buffer overrun' error with IE. Now when I access
theage.com.au or smh.com.au with Firefox, it keeps crashing. This only
happens at home - Firefox works fine in the office. Any advice appreciated.
Thanks.

Fix your buffer overrun issue, and go back to IE.
Its much more stable and reliable and useable

Nothing. I used Netscape before anything else, then IE
Used all the different shit since then, Mozilla, Firefox, etc ect

Always come back to IE. The simplest and the best

Even if for some weird reason you actually belive that (I am having a hard
time grasping you actually do), I would have thought it in your best
interest to encourage others to use alternative browsers, to get MS off
their arse and ensure IE is still developed.

I know it's fashionable to rag on MS and praise the alternatives, and I'm
all for it, but Firefox crashes more often on my system then IE ever did.

Well it's your problem and the computer. I have been using it for
months and it has never crashed. Actually Win XP hasn't either.
I use my computer for hours and hours in a day btw.

My PC has been on continously for about two weeks without a hitch so XP
isn't the problem. Firefox crashes and IE doesn't so I've stopped using
Firefox, it's as simple as that.

Mileage may vary...

crikees, talk about one eyed. If internet explorer is crashing, it also
is your problem and the computer. ie's problem (imho, obviously) isn't
stability, it's poor security (which then allows crap in, causing poor
stability) and integration with windows, making it a pain to repair /
troubleshoot.

Not at all, if it doesn't work for you or you do not like it, don't use it.
I use it across about 4 PC's and FF works fine as does IE, I just prefer FF
(and FB before it and I think Opera was the best, I just did not like the
nag ware).

My point was that those that prefer IE should encourage FF users, as it
will only help keep MS on their toes and keep developing IE with new
features. I often stay people to stay with IE when they ask. I haven't
used it for 4 years or so though.

It can, I visit it every day and did using Opera and Firebird prior to
Firefox.

His IE is "crashing" as well and it works from from his "work"

May be a plugin. SMH has lots of Flash content... The plugin wrappers are
different for IE and Firefox but ultimately they invoke the same core
code.
