We've done it ourselves with those rented machines but you never do as
good job as the professionals in my experience.
If electrodry means cleaning the carpet without water/steam then
forget it, we had that done for us once and the carpet was only
"clean" for about 6 months and had to be done again. Apparently it
doesnt clean very deep in the carpet.
Somebody has recommended "Cheap As Chips" to me, but I dont like the
name :-)
Another said that Myer have a good steam cleaning service but the
quality of the job depends a lot on who they actually send out to you.
We are in Pascoe Vale (northern melbourne suburb)

I agree, I did both and the companies are a lot better and easier.
Get a local one from the yellow pages, a lot of them are so cheap
that it is well worth not bothering with do it yourself jobs.
