 | I have an older Omni SL-P3003D DVD player. It is a great machine, but Ive noticed it often skips or freezes when I play burnt DVD's, and often the audio isnt aligned with the picture. I was about to throw it out but a friend said something about firmware updates. Does anybody know how I can get this and whether its worth keeping the player? Apsrt from these odd problems I have had no other problems with it.

Could be the discs you are using.
You'll find cheaper brand dvd-r's do this after a while despite an initial successful burn.

You could try visiting the site of and/or contacting the Australian distributors of Omni products, Galas Electronics.
I haven't had reason to myself, but I have read people here over the years doing so.
