Why Is It That When I Record Programs From My STB (Strong 5390 PVR) To
DVD Recorder , That Some Programs Only Have Picture But No Sound ?
Then There Are Programs That Record Perfectly On To DVD Recorder.

Maybe They Have Poor Grammar Skills And Know A Word Starting With A
Capital Letter Is Somewhere In A Sentence, And Are Using The "Broken
Clock Is Correct Twice A Day" Principle To Make Sure They Get It...

Some channels only have digital sound and you've probably only got an
analogue connection (or vice verca)

I suppose it depends on how he has the DVD recorder connected
I woulda thort that if you had a RCA connection that it wouldnt
matter how it was coming in on the PVR as the PVR would have
to convert it to analogue to go out on RCA as thats what it
would do to go straight to the TV.

perhaps he could post how he has all his connections.

Are You Saying If I Record A Channel On The STB PVR In Digital Sound
That I Can't Burn That Program , Unless I Set The STB PVR From AC3 To
MPEG?

Erm yeah kinda like that.
I'm no expert (I've only had an STB a week myself) but seeing as I'm the
only one who is giving you straight answers instead of being a smartarse I
guess I'll keep going....

I've found that if I record in AC3 (Called "Dolby" on my menu) then there's
no analogue output when I playback (and I can't hear anything on the little
TV in the kitchen).
If I record on Analogue (called "stereo" on my menu) then I seem to get both
analogue and digital playback (but I dunno if I get AC3 or just Dolby 2.0
surround or not).
Either way it's a pain in the butt so I'm trying to figure out a work
around!

In the mean time: do you have a coax or optical digital input into your DVD
recorder that you can connect to the output of your STB so you can record
the AC3 stream?
If not you're stuck with analogue...

Thankyou For Taking The Time To Serious.
To Record The AC3 Stream Like You Suggest Would Mean The DVD Recorder
Needs Coaxial OR Optical Cable Input, I Think.
As Far As I Know Even The Top Of The Range DVD Recorders Only Have RCA
Audio Inputs.
