If anyone is interested, AVchannel are releasing for the First time
locally in March a couple of Lars Von Trier's films on DVD, Breaking
the Waves and The Idiots.

It had a brief cinema run before it made it to TV. ISTR it ran for over
4 hours.

It was okay, but not brilliant. I don't think von Trier has ever done
as well as The Element of Crime.

Yes the Element of Crime was an experience, I must look for that on DVD and
the Epidemic. I was mortified by Stephen King's The Kingdom. I had high
hopes, what with Von Trier being a producer and all. Not what I hoped for.
Must dig out the original.

Yep on SBS three or four years ago. Only the first season though as far as I
recall.

They showed both cause I had it on tape. Recently replaced with the R2 DVD
though. I originally saw the series when the Academy cinema in Sydney showed
them in Jan/Feb 99.

They did play the 2nd season eventually. I'm still waiting for a DVD
release of that 2nd season. Have the first from R2. Zentropa would also be
good for local release.
