 | This is the most tedious, self-indulgent film I have ever seen.

 | Yeah? Well your post is the most tedious, self-indulgent one I've ever read. Go watch "Collateral Damage" starring Arni :D

Interestingly this movie has been very popular with the mainstrem public, even making the top 10 one week. I suppose it's good that the general public is watching foreign films, but why must it be this one.

 | I thought it was OK. I didn't really hold my attention the whole way through the film though. The ending was not as interesting as the actual trip. I actually thought the biochemist (Alberto Grando) was the more interesting of the two characters. "Che" was a bit too serious for me. I haven't read a lot about Che Guevara, so perhaps you would get more out of the film if you were more familiar with his life. I guess you saw his experiences with poverty and oppression on the trip and how they might have influenced his later "career path" ;-)
The cinematography was very well done and there was some amazing South American scenery.
2.5/5

It went on about 1/2 an hour too long for my liking. I think the director must have realised this towards the end when the long journey down the river on the final leg of the trip was skimmed over very quickly (either that, or nothing very interesting happened) and the next thing you saw was them saying good-bye at the airport.....
