There is a new Australian feature film coming out in May next year
called 'Meat Pie'. Apparently it's an Australian version of 'American
Pie'. I guess since Americans are always taking Europeans film ideas
it's okay for us to take theirs.
Anyway it looks like it's going to be one of the few Australian
Comedies that are actually funny.

Can't we think up something on our own instead of ripping off a
Hollywood film?

Confront a man in his office with a nuclear alarm, and you have a documentary.
If the news reaches him in his living room, you have a drama.
If you catch him in the lavatory, the result is comedy.

Any movie with a major part played by a Big Brother cast member kinda limits
its level it can hit, in my view.

Do you mean entertainment level or profit making level, or both
perhapse?

Because I believe that this film was made purely to make money to fund
other more 'cultured' films, so in theory in supporting this film you'd
actually be helping the film makers to make the kinds of films that
they want to make. And let's face it Australian film makers need all
the support they can get.
