Fuck her, if there's no obvous single then it's obviously crap and shouldn't be inflicted on the public.
If it's so good, why doesn't she go to another label or indie? Because it's crap and no-one will touch it that's why.

She was never a 'singles' artist and did quite well for herself. How do you know there are no singles ?
Sounds to me like the typical australian tall poppy syndrome again. If Fiona was a true underdog (read: never sold many albums, not well known and and had a very small following - similar to Powderfinger circa 1994) then you wouldn't be bashing her.
I don't think she could hop labels are they 'own' her work.

Most alternative, metal etc artists don't release singles - other than radio singles of course which are played by the likes of JJJ. I've heard the two tracks that have been leaked off her new album and they are both decent.
I remember the problems with Robyn Loau ('Sick With Love') - I managed to score a copy of her album (Malaria) with a handwritten product number, and it's actually quite good, but record industry politics didn't allow its release.

Originally, yes ... although you definitely wouldn't have known from the styles of music on her own record.

Err no. Her contract would probably prevent label hopping.

Or George Michael, Prince, Tool... all of whom ultimately won against their record companies, all in very different ways, but it took *years*, for most of which they couldn't release anything. I must admit I liked Prince's rather unique way of handling his situation...

Same as the Hole/Courtney Love debacle. It appears to be very common once an act reaches star status.

Let's say the little symbol he adopted made life difficult for those trying to sue him.

You're dealing with the one of the world's biggest record companies with an army of lawyers. You think they their contracts _aren't_ absolutely water tight? Bad publicity means nothing, Sony can afford to hold out. They do it all the time; an act's profile is no barrier.

What are you on about? I'm responding to the question "why doesn't she go to another label or indie?" and I gave a likely reason.
