You don't think he was after the off shore oil ? they have complained
that he has been harsh in negotiating over that.
As for committing the country heavily - he seems to have forgotten who
he is supposed to care for -Australians - where did all this money come
from ?

It is far too tragic for a hidden agenda. As it happened many Australian
politicians were on tax payer funded overseas holidays, so they didn't have
time for hidden agendas. Really I think in this case we have to take things
as they come, and anyway keeping our troops out of Iraq is a good thing,
right?
