CHRISTIAN CALLING
Christianity defined
To Read: Micah 4,5
To Know:
"For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I mention you always in my prayers..." (Rm. 1:9)
One winter when our oldest son was still in high school, he was cast in a Shakespearean play at the Palace Theater in Manchester New Hampshire. He was not noted for his sense of direction nor was he at that time an experienced driver. His mother and I knew that despite the late nights, the navigational challenge on his way back and forth to Manchester, and the ever present peril of winter weather, this would be good for our son. It is true to say that on rehearsal nights and during performances he was never off my mind. From after supper until he was back in the driveway, our son was uppermost in my concerns. Certainly whenever I prayed Andrew would be mentioned.
Paul tells the Romans that they are never off his mind. He prays for them without ceasing. Doubtless the apostle means that whenever he sets about to pray the Romans always receive mention. It was love for my son that made it impossible for me to neglect his situation by failing to ask God to protect and prosper him. So too Paul wants the Romans to excel in their faith and enjoy the blessings that have come to them in Christ. By telling the Romans of his love for them, Paul is giving the believers in the capital city of the world a powerful motive to obey what he writes in the epistle.
To Do:
We obey God in proportion to our knowledge of his love for us. The better we know the love of Jesus Christ the more anxious we will be to do what pleases the Lord. The Christian life is not lived out of a rulebook. Christianity is the love of sinners for their savior.
To Ask:
Father, open my eyes to see the love of your son for me personally. Remind me that your words are meant to convict me of sin and convince me that you willingly save sinners.

A single pair of hands working accomplish more than a thousand clasped in prayer.

If you believe the fundamentalist crew you must accept that Yeshua was actually God incarnate as well as being the son of himself.
Oh, and he was also born without any exchange of bodily fluids.
We on planet earth know this is a lot of hooey.
