Objet : calling all VSAM experts...
List,
Someone is telling me that it is possible to have up to 128 extents for
a VSAM dataset on a single volume. Everything that I've always read and
heard is that the maximum is 16 extents per volume. Is this true? If it
is, is it true for VSAM-managed SAM datasets as well or just true VSAM?
If there is any basis for this claim, could you point me to the proper
place in one of the VSAM books? TIA
