The Apocrypha wasn't an original inclusion in the KJV. It was added on the request of the RC church. The Apocrypha was (&still is) an attempt to put the RC doctrine into biblical format, so it would survive the persecution that was back in the dark ages. Make no mistake that the RC doctrine is plenty full of error though.
