Christ answered that the only thing necessary was BELIEF in Him
John 6:28-29
28. Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works
of God?
29. Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye
believe on him whom he hath sent.

| This is one of the most misunderstood verses in scripture. The
Reformed theologians use to to say that faith is God's work, ignoring
the context of the question. Dispensationalists use this verse to say
that Jews were saved by faith demonstrated by works, ignoring Jesus'
response.
Glad to see someone else gets it!
