I have just snipped a pile of garbage posted under my name in this thread.
I do not know where it came from. I thought this ng was moderated? Steve
Goltra seems to have been similrly treated.

Someone has been blasting several of the Christnet newsgroups with
dozens of offensive posts. They do this by 'hijacking' the identities
of regulars who post here on Christnet.
We have reported them, but so far none of the ISPs have put a stop to
them, either because they are unable to, or because they don't care
since the newsgroups are low on their priority lists.
We block literally dozens of offensive posts every day by trolls whose
main interest is causing trouble. But this particular troll has found a
way to bypass the required moderators approval and so far we have been
unable to stop him. Hopefully we can soon get him shut down, or he will
tire of his silly little games and just go away.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but for the moment all we can suggest is to
just ignore him.
