 | In the gospel of Christ,
a righteousness is revealed
that is not our own.
It is a righteousness given as a gift.
It is the righteousness of God and Christ.
It is credited to us who trust in Christ.
On the cross, Christ paid for our sins
that in him we might become
the righteousness of God.
Your salvation comes
not by the merits of your repentance,
or commitment, or surrender, or anything;
not by the merits of your church
or anything your church does;
but by Jesus Christ the Son of God
who took your place on the cross.
Who is it that receives
the righteousness that comes from God
and is by faith?
Those whose trust is on Christ,
rather than on themselves or their church,
for their salvation.
