The IMCM'05 takes place at the University of Klagenfurt, Austria.
The main objective of this international conference is to drive forward
the research on mass customization and to close the gap between theory
and practice. Practitioners and researchers working in this field are
invited to submit their papers in which they present original works and
new advances in mass customization. This can refer to theoretical
concepts,
information and managerial tools as well as best practices for
supporting
a successful implementation of mass customization. Ongoing or completed
research as well as papers with a main focus on practice and case
studies
are welcome. Topics of interests include, but are not limited to:

Track 1: Manufacturing systems for mass customization
* MC product and process design
* Variety management and costs of variety
* Production planning and control
* Product family management and modular architectures
* Complexity of mass customizing systems
* Custom order control in MC manufacturing systems

Track 2: Supply chain management in mass customization
* Logistic systems for MC
* Customization of logistic processes
* Logistic systems complexity
* Customer and supplier integration
* Adaptive supply chains
* Placement of the decoupling point in the supply chain

Track 3: Information systems for mass customization
* Customer needs' elicitation
* Personalization and advisory systems
* Product modeling and configuration systems
* Customer-Relationship-Management systems
* IT-architecture and infrastructure for MC
* IT-support for open innovation

Furthermore, due to the complex and interdisciplinary disposition of
the topics, we expect contributions from business administration,
(engineering) management, industrial engineering, economics, and
information technology. Please submit the papers as attached PDF and
Word files to the following Email address: IMCM05 @ manufacturing.de

Papers should not exceed 20 pages according to the author guidelines.
The official language of the conference is English. Therefore, final
manuscripts that are accepted for publication in the conference
proceedings should be written and presented in English. In order to
facilitate the review process, authors should mention at the cover
page (which is not included in the word limit), their names,
institutions or affiliations, addresses, emails, and websites.
The first author is considered as the corresponding author unless
it is explicitly mentioned on the cover page. Furthermore, authors
have to specify the track to which the paper can be assigned. All
papers will be reviewed by at least two members of the review committee.

In order to maintain this double-blind review policy, no indication
that would identify the authors is allowed in the abstracts.
