Final Call For Papers
Sixth International Conference on Intelligent Data Engineering and Automated Learning (IDEAL'05)
6th - 8th July, 2005 Brisbane, Australia.
http://www.itee.uq.edu.au/~ideal05/
==================================================================
IDEAL is an annual conference dedicated to emerging and challenging topics in intelligent data analysis and engineering and their associated learning paradigms. Following the highly successful conferences held in Exeter (2004), Hong Kong (2003) and Manchester (2002), the sixth conference (IDEAL'05) will be held in the subtropical city of Brisbane, Australia's third-largest city.
IDEAL'05 provides an opportunity to present the latest theoretical advances and real-world applications in intelligent data engineering and automated learning.
Call for Papers ===============
IDEAL is a high-quality, dual-oral track conference. In 2004, 124 papers were accepted for presentation from 272 submissions. Session topics included ensemble learning methods, kernel methods, feature extraction, classification, data mining, agents, evolutionary computation, knowledge and rule-based systems, gene expression, protein data, image analysis, finance, fuzzy sets, time series, spam detection and rule engineering.
Conference Scope
Technical areas include, but are not limited to:
* Learning and Information Processing - Machine Learning - Neural Networks and Emergent Systems - Probabilistic Learning - Clustering and Classification - Feature Selection and Extraction - Evolutionary Computation - Fuzzy Logic
* Data Mining - Rule-based Systems - Text and Web Mining - Multivariate Data Visualisation - Internet and Multimedia Databases - Knowledge Discovery and Retrieval - Data Warehouse and E-organisations - Image Analysis - Speech and Signal Processing - Medical Diagnosis and Databases
* Bioinformatics - Protein Structural Prediction - Gene Expression Data Analysis - Metabolomics and Pathway Analysis - Bioinformatics Tools and Intelligent Decision Making Systems - Molecular Data Management - Novel Bioinformatics Algorithms
* Agents - Multi-agents Systems - Autonomous Agents - Agent Architectures and Protocols - Collaborative and Collective learning - Self-Organising Systems
* Financial Engineering - Electronic Commerce - Portfolio Management - Risk Analysis and Management - Fraud Detection - Modelling and Forecasting - Volatility and Trading Strategies
Paper Submission and Publication
All submissions will be refereed by experts in the field based on originality, significance, quality and clarity. Accepted papers will be included in IDEAL 2005 Proceedings to be published by Springer-Verlag in the prestigious Lecture Notes in Computer Science series. Papers should not exceed 6 pages and should comply with the format of LNCS/LNAI proceedings (see http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs).
Manuscripts should be submitted using the on-line submission system. This will be available closer to the submission date via the conference web site: http://www.itee.uq.edu.au/~ideal05
Special Issue
Authors of selected outstanding papers presented at IDEAL'05 will be invited to submit extended and revised versions of their papers to be considered for publication in a Special Issue of the International Journal of Neural Systems, on "Adaptive Neural Methods for Intelligent Data Analysis".
Important Dates
* Submission of papers: 21st February, 2005 (firm). * Notification of acceptance: 6th April, 2005. * Camera-ready papers due: 20th April, 2005. * IDEAL 2005 Conference: 6th-8th July, 2005.
