Our company located in New York City is currently engaged in a project
that is likely to involve the development of an expert system in the
medical/healthcare area (establishing diagnostics, formulating
treatment recommendations, monitoring patient's evolution over time).

Therefore we are looking for a person located in the New York city
area with experience in expert system development/programming, ideally
in a business context area.

The first step is for us to discuss the following points with this
person:
- What problems is expert systems programming suited for? Is the
problem tackled by our company a good candidate to expert system
programming?
- What is the best expert system development approach: develop it from
scracth or use prepackaged expert system shells that exist in the
marketplace out there?
- How do existing prepackaged expert system shells compare with each
other (free CLIPS, Corvid from Exsys, Vanguard SW, Logicnets...)
- What are the limitations/constraints of expert systems? Especially,
prepackaged ones?
- What are the benefits of experts systems?
- Can one develop expert systems that can be easily improved along the
way (e.g. improved accuracy of diagnostic or recommendation) based on
past historical results gathered by the system? What do you need to put
inplace to have such capability internally?
- Which IT firms do specialize in/are good at expert system
developments in the market?

Depending on the results of this first discussion and the level of
expertise of the person we'll meet, the next step may lead us to work
with this person on the actual system development.

If you are someone with such knowlegde/experience or would know someone
with such knowledge, will you please contact me (1 917 608 1779).
Thanks.
