 | Hello there, I am a beginner as far as this field is considered. Can anybody help me how to get started in this subject?. I have some programming experience in Java and C. Please tell me the reources that may be availabel on the web, or any books that you recommend etc..  | As a programmer I found ' 'Foundations of Statistical Natural Language Processing ' by Manning' very useful when looking at NLP from tect and not voice.

 | No, NLP doesn't require thorough understanding of DSP.
I started of reading the book ( gives u brief overview of various research fields in NLP)
" Speech and Natural Language Processing --- An Introduction to Natural Language Processing, Computational Linguistics and Speech Recognition " ---by Jurafsky and Martin.
