Not using the programme before what is classed as a good score and
what can i do to improve my systems output

You have the basis for a very fast machine.
Keep the processor and the entire system cool ... some systems will clock
down if things get too hot.
You can look into upgrading your hard disk ... the faster the hard disk, the
more buffer memory on the disk cache, the better.
Make sure your OS has plenty of swap/paging space.
