 | Hello, anyone who can help please do or direct me to where I need to
go. I am very careful about what I do on the internet, however, my
brother is not, he downloaded a file and now I cannot get to yahoo.com
and sevral other web sites. Whenever I do, it loads very quikly and
then loads an About Blank page and two pop ups come up. I cannot ream
my mail or anything, and whenever I trie to delete it like some
forums said, it shuts itself down!!! I can give you anyinformation you
want if you need more, but PLEASE HELP!!!!!

| Adaware and Spybot will normaly get rid of this bad one.
If you are using XP or ME, you must have the restore freature turned
off, while running these cleaner programs. Also, make sure that the
browser is turned off. If you are using 2000, you must be in the VGA
mode to turn off the restore feature.
There are some varients of this one that are very difficult to get rid
of. There are some other pay type softwares that are supposed to be
able to get rid of it if the free ones don't work. But, then again, it
may depend on many factors.

The best safety solution is to keep a current backup of the complete
operating system, and the user file base. If there is a serious
problem, the hard disk can be reformated, and everything transfered
back from the backup. I use an outboard hard disk with a software
called Ghost. I found it to be the best solution for me.
