I'm looking for a book that provides guidance on how to design a
(preferably industrial strength) database in the context of application
development.
Most db books I know (eg Date, Ullman, etc), discuss how to normalise
the database, what each db layer is, how to administer, etc. but does
not necessarily arm you when you have to design the database for say,
an amazon.com or an airport?
Any recommended books/methodologies? Thanks!
