 | Is it possible to configure mutt to have a split-screen in the way that slrn does, with the index for a given mailbox in, say, the top third and the contents of the currently selected message in the bottom two thirds? If this isn't supported now, are there plans to add it?

You're welcome. To be honest, I only found out about that feature (quite some time ago, admittedly) when it was pointed out to me. The words `split' and `screen' definitely wouldn't go amiss in the manual's description.
