In June 2005, I will probably become a computer trainer.
Everyday, we can read news about e-learning. For a few years,
e-learning has become a new training tool. E-learning is more and more
used by companies in order to improve employees' competences.
But I wonder if e-learning is a danger for computer trainers.
One of the advantages for e-learning is the freedom for each user to
learn as he wants. But one drawback is when the trainee meets a
problem, he has to solve by himself.
I think e-learning may be an additional way of training. I feel the
human aspect can't be ignored. Trainees need a direct relation with a
teacher in most cases.

Thank you for your help.

Just a humble opinion:
Here in Germany, at the beginning of the 60s, classrooms were equipped=20
with TV sets and everyone foresaw the end of teaching as we knew it:=20
just put your kids in front of "school-tv" and they'd be guarantted a Phd=
!
10 years later, schools were equipped with language-labs where each=20
student had a tape recorder and headphones with microphone and they'd=20
listen to language courses and repeat phrases and the teacher (yes, they =

were still there!) could listen in on the students and correct if needed.=

Today, our schools (yes, they are still there!) are equipped with PCs in =

every classroom.

Go figure.

Unfortunately this is true, but when money gets tight, people turn to=20
cheap solutions ignoring the fact that they may not be the best.
