 | I may have several problems, but here goes....
First my video stopped working (any monitor plugged into it said No Signal). So I went and got a new video card. Before it was just straight from the MB with no card. I finally had a signal, but windows was not stable....for now I'll spare the details, except to say that when it got to the desktop and things were loading, it would last about 20 seconds before turning off. I did say it detected new software, and also the destop went crazy and vanished and put the Recover Local Desktop button on the screen. I was able to boot in safe mode, but was not able to fix things from there (long story). So, and this may have been foolish, I decided I would try a Windows Repair. I put the disk in, first choosing install, then choosing repair. It started it's whole process, re-booted, continued the 'Install', after which about 34 minutes left on the timer, it would shut down. It did this several times, and now when it boots it says the following is missing or corrupt /Windows/System32/Config/System
It says I can try the repair counsel, but I've never used that before except for the chkdsk /r. I don't know what else I can or should try from there, or what else I can try in general.
