the most frequently used tools for parallel programming according to
the message-passing paradigm. The meeting is dedicated to the latest
developments of PVM and MPI and their applications.

This is the 12th EuroPVM/MPI meeting of the series, previous ones
being held at

1994: University of Rome, Italy
1995: ENS Lyon, France
1996: TU Muenchen, Germany
1997: Institute of Computer Science & ACC CYFRONET, Krakow, Poland
1998: University of Liverpool, United Kingdom
1999: Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, Spain

programming environments. They will have the opportunity to meet
each other, share ideas and experiences, and meet members of the
PVM and MPI teams. Main topics of the meeting will be

* Algorithms using the message-passing paradigm
* Applications in science and engineering (based on message-passing)
* Latest extensions and improvements to PVM and MPI
* PVM/MPI in clusters and grid environments
* Performance evaluation of PVM and MPI
* Tools and environments for PVM and MPI
* PVM/MPI implementation issues and extensions

CONFERENCE VENUE:

The conference will be held in Capri - Sorrento Penisular
(exact location pending), mediterranean land that has been depicted
described and immortalised in song by artists, poets and travellers
from every period of history. Along the coast, rugged and inaccessible
cliffs soar upwards between beautiful beaches, hidden caves, enchanting
bays and sheltered coves. Charming local towns, extraordinary hospitality
as well as excellent, well laid-out tourist facilities open the penisular
and the island's beautiful to its many visitors from all over the world.
In addiction to its historic, literary and scenic wonders, Capri and
Sorrento Penisular can be boast of excellent beaches, making it one of
the world's leading swimming and climatic resorts.

Capri is serviced daily from the mainland by a large number of ferries
and hydrofoils. The Isle of Capri can be reached from Naples (Molo
Beverello)
by ferry in approx. 1 1/2 hrs. Hydrofoils make the trip in about 1/2 hr.
Capri also has ship connections to Sorrento and to Positano, Amalfi and
Ischia. Sorrento Penisular is connected to Naples by a frequent scheduled
metropolitan train (one each 1/2 hour, 1 hour trip to Sorrento).
>From Rome Intl. airport you can get to Naples by plane, or by train
(about 2h30 from rome airport directly to the city centre).
Direct flights exists between Naples and many European cities i.e. London,
