 | I've just bought a new Sony DRU 700A ReWriter, I've put it in an
external box (powered) that allows IDE devices to connect via USB.
I've had four failures (2 DVDs and 2CDs) and no successes as yet.
I've used slow write speeds on both, 4x then 2x.
Now I'm wondering, have I got a faulty ReWriter or is it something
else?
The box was connected to two different laptops, one has USB2 and the
other only USB1
Initially I thought it was the fact I was using a USB1 lead (Not sure
if there is a difference but it was off a USB1 device) but one CD
write failed at 2x speed so I doubt it is that.
Any comments appreciated before I start demanding money back or a
replacement.
