 | I installed Netscape 7.2. 7.02 worked fine, before, but then I ran into a problem (not related to this one) and upgraded.
Now, suddenly, this problem occurs: When I went to MSN Homepage and clicked in their stock quote box, I got an XP box asking me what I wanted to use to open it with? In the past, I entered the stock in the box, clicked Go and got my quote; never ever had to tell it what program to use. So, not really understanding the question, which was how to open the .dll (I think it was webstart.dll) I took a guess and said "Netscape". This caused like 25 Netscape windows to open, and crashed my browser.
I then unassociated the .dll with Netscape, so I no longer get it crashing Netscape. But the question is, "What program DO I associate the webstart.dll with?"
I figured Java, so I tried pointing it to Java but that did not work either.
Can anyone help me with this. Please be specific, I know nothing about java, and I need you to point me to where on my computer I'll find it or what the exact name of the file is so I can search for it.
p.s. I downloaded the latest version of Sun Micro webstart, thinking it might re-associate itself, but that did not work.
p.p.s. And, anyway, why would an MSN stock quote service need to be pointed to a program to work???
