I received a file from someone which apparently is in PAO, Indesign
format, the filename being *.indd

Some years ago they sent me a file which I managed to read in a Quark
demo reader.
I wonder if there is a similar reader for these Indesign files which I
could use as a one off solution for this particular file?
I understand that Indesign is an Adobe product and I've been looking
on their site, but I cannot find anything like a free reader.

Thanks for any pointers.

Look for an InDesign "Tryout", which is a time-limited demo version.
Or ask whoever sent it to you to give you a PDF instead.

John,
Great advice, thanks.
This just does the trick. I will probably never use it again after
this one file.
I didn't see the indication Tryout on the site, as I was looking for
something like Demo.
Cheers
