 | I'm involved with a small group that has to demonstrate compliance to 12207.
Does anyone have any pointers to how this is done - in the UK. I read through the std some time ago and can remember what its about, but treated it as informantive. Conformance is discussed in section 1.4 but I no longer have access to a copy.
Who determines whether software development work comforms, and how? Is it easy to scale for what is in effect a small team? And does demonstrating conformance cost much?
Any pointers gratefully received. Thanks in anticipation

Simple - to get a development contract. The client wants it.

OK

No - just the (small) software group

At this stage all we've seen is a couple of sentences in a photcopy of a fax stating that the contract requires that development process will be compliant to 12207. Nothing about degrees of compliance or how client will satisfy themselves about this - hence my enquiry. Looks like the client needs to be asked what they expect.

Please prove me wrong but I think that "Compliance" usually a part of developer / consumer agreement and therefore if both sides agree on using standard they will be the ones controlling compliance to it ?
Alexei.
