Heh heh! Oh yeah, Tom must be a terrible person! He LIED about leaving csa2 forever! BWAHAHAHA! Boy, you really discredited him there.
Whatever his faults, Tom is helping to preserve the Apple II. You, on the other hand post *nothing* but attacks on Tom. You're the "pestiferous pestilence on csa2", not Tom.

Why, I changed my ways years ago, Pule! You must have missed it during one of your half dozen filtering events. ;)
> Heh heh! Oh yeah, Tom must be a terrible person!
Nah... just a terrible waste of protoplasm... ;)

Golly, Pule... I don't have to do anything to discredit Tom. He can't help but do that to himself.
Him leaving csa2 forever is a running joke though. He's only done it 4 or 5 times now. ;)
> Whatever his faults, Tom is helping to preserve the Apple II.
He's been gone from csa2 for two years, Pule... wait. I guess you're right, his absense HAS helped preserve the Apple II. ;)
> You, on the other hand post *nothing* but attacks on Tom.
Hmmm... Not really. I sharpened my claws on Cooter for a bit. Something about pompous asses and pirating phules that just rubs my fur the wrong way.
Still, if you feel the motherly urge to protect the good Dorktor, don't let me stop you. You're sort of humourous in your way too. ;)

Gee, for a literary type person, I'd think you could come up with your own alliterations. ;)

I had a friend from Germany visit Joes home and said there were cats all over the place 100's of cats - not at all alive but, just that virtually everything there had some sort of a cat picture, figurine and such.
Would that qualify as a Quantum Cat event?

While there is a great similarity with size and color between Moby and Charles, I'm afraid that ends when you consider that whales are aquatic mammals, while Charles hasn't bathed in years.
I do hope he's not terribly offended by your comparison though. ;)

Well, sure. All this inactivity since the good Dorktor retired from csa2 forever was beginning to become tiresome.
I guess it was for the Dorktor too, else he wouldn't have lied about leaving forever, and once again practices his pestiferous pestilence on csa2. Oh well, some things never change. ;)

And some things do. When Tom "outed" himself here on csa2, I took the liberty of browsing some of his other recent Usenet posts through Google. The personality of his posts seems to have gone from deranged and sometimes aggressive (as I remember them) to cheerfully strange. Perhaps something of his personality, or at least social skills, has truly changed since he "left forever."
Dr. Tom was undeniably a divisive presence, as illustrated by some reactions from his mere reappearance here. Clearly there are some bitter memories. But honestly, it looks like his time-out worked for him, and if he wants to come back and play with the other children now, shouldn't we give him an open and honest chance? I don't want to contribute to the reformation of an antiquated and possibly needless political schism. And if it's necessary, I know how to work a killfile.

If anyone in the Apple II world today has a legitimate claim to that title, it's Richard. His knowledge is deep and wide, and his contributions awesome.

I was merely commenting on how simply the correct title of MP3 was to detect. Nothing more. I have used much of what is available by Richard, and I agree that he has contributed to the A2 community immensely. :o)

No need to apologize. We all have these days when we're not all we should be. I see from the most recent posts that the Dr. has some major issues and we all have to deal with it as it comes. A good friend of mine in the A2 world has warned me all about him and I know not to mess in a very old flame war. :o)
BTW, we had folks like that in the Atari world back in those days.

Thanks for your premissive tolerance of me vector. Yes, I'm no longer concerned with the hateful attitudes of anybody about past events. Asimov lives, Apple2.org.za host many great archives for the Apple II peoples needs and likewise so does the old historical preserved grin.net site of yester -years.
I'm not really back in the true sense of the word. Just lurking and commenting on things every now and then.
Believe it or not I actually got an email last year from Nathan Mates asking to make amends with me for all the hateful attitudes he fostered towards me in the past. So, we are on friendly terms still.
If anything ever needs to be done that I see an reason for rest assured it will be done.
I've turned all A2 efforts over to another oldie but goodie from the A2 past - Dr. Roberts!

Well, that's due to the lifestyle choices you made long ago. Now it looks like it's about time to pack you up and put you in a home. ;)

I'm sure that's what you meant, Dorktor. Sadly, your brain cell was working it's little synapses to death, but the mind was in neutral. ;)

That ought to be an interesting conversation to watch. I hope you DO convince "Dr. Tom". ;)

How kind and generous of you to make that offer. I know how difficult that must be to come up with the bucks for that, being the welfare leech you are. ;)

Hey! If you register, be sure and ask for the multi-personality discount! I'll bet they let Tom, and TuhDuh, and Charles in at half price! ;)

In all seriousness, I seem to remember Rubywand writing to say you'd gone away forever from csa2 to die of heart problems. I take it that didn't happen, then, and you're well again?

It appears that I'm unable to validate that assertion. Or more specifically, I don't want to take the time to do it, even if it could be done.
It's possible I've confused Tom's original goodbye wherein he cited his poor health among the reasons for his departure (http://groups-beta.google.com/group/comp.sys.apple2/messages/bf74cf937f12df17) with another of your posts which referenced his. It *has* been a few years, after all. Or as we're fond of saying at work, "Sorry, I've slept since then."

Yeah, it's what you don't see that you have to worry about. Syphilis, herpes, Turlette's Syndrome... ;)

Proof positive that spanking the monkey DOESN'T cause blindness. Stupidity, obviously, but not blindness. The Dorktor can see!

Tom, I still have the copies of every piece of Brutal Deluxe software you wanted... pirated of course. I will put them up on an FTP site for you to download.

No thanks Steve. I've got my original (two period) personal disk version Brutal Deluxe sent me to trap me in piracy. ;) I thought we both uploaded that somewhere before.
This group is to polite and civil to start a flame war again. After all Nathan and I settled our problems and parted on friendly terms. I'm still thrilled with that Turkey game he did in my honor. But, damned if I can find it anywhere online any more.
I want to play it on Bernie ][ the Rescue on my Dell. Anybody know where I can get a copy of it?

I doubt very much than anyone else in the world would want to be you. ;)

I've seen Richard do strange and twisted things with a barbie, but I think he'd rip out his intestines to hang himself if the mere glimmer of the possibility of even contemplating the act of thinking of impersonating you were to touch lightly on his mind.
Even I would find such an act to be totally degrading, hideous, and unthinkable.. *Gack*!

I was thinking more along the lines of preserving Apple II related files and making them available to others. I can't recall you even answering an Apple II related question for someone. You may have some other socially redeeming value, but as far as csa2 goes YOU'RE the waste of protoplasm.

I stand corrected. I'll make that "You, on the other hand post *nothing* but attacks." Is that accurate? Do you even have any interest in Apple II's?

Tell ya what- there's 1.3 billion Chinese and a billion Indians pirating like crazy. Why don't you run along and go bother them? When you're done there's also the Russians, Thais, etc etc.
You're a joke. The Apple II has been out of production for what, 12 yrs? I think the statute of limitations has run out on Tom's crimes. You aren't just beating a dead horse, it's Eohippus.

He excels at being funny when he doesn't mean to. ;) 4-D sound indeed!

He certainly has. Even if he had to steal them first. ;P

True enough. No one has ever asked me one. ;)

Well, feel free to hold that opinion. There are others that disagree. Hi Roy!

Sure do. QC arose due to my annoyance at what the Dorktor was doing to my Apple II developer friends, and his snagging my work as well.
> Tell ya what- there's 1.3 billion Chinese and a billion Indians > pirating like crazy. Why don't you run along and go bother them? When > you're done there's also the Russians, Thais, etc etc.
Well, one must choose one's battles. 2.3 billion pirates could kick my butt.
Playing "Whack-a-Mole" with one beached, bleached, and bloated binary code "borrowing" butthead is more enjoyable, I've found. ;)

Well, the dead horse I'm beating on is still bleating. That's all I need. ;)
