I'm trying to remember an 'interactive fiction' game from ages past. It
was written in AppleSoft BASIC, I think it was copied out of a magazine
(perhaps Byte), however, it was passed around our high-school so I'm
not sure.

It involved escaping from a high-rise building floor by floor. I can't
remember many of the details, I do remember one level you have to inflate
a balloon and descend to the next level.

If anyone knows the name of the game I'd appreciate if you'd post it.

Thanks,
-Mike

I played this and it was great.

there is also a crocodile, a broken
elevator, a killer fish, other cool
obstacles.

ESCAPE ??? I think it was...
no. Maybe KIDNAPPED. I think
that is it.

You are welcome.

If you know of any other text games similar to
kidnapped that are fun, please let me know.

You might try...

http://apple2.org.za/gswv/a2zine/Sel/InfocomTypeGames.htm

And if you get tired of those, cruise around rec.arts.int-fiction and
look for some sites. Basically, the Infocom interpreter will run any .z5
game file. There's quite a bit of interactive fiction being created
today, so you're sure to find something.

You might try Theatre. It's spooky and fairly challenging.

That's funny as hell! One minute you're posting this:
"Puhlease. I rather enjoy the Cat's roasting of the Dorktor. Few people
deserve it more.

The next minute you're posting a link to Tom's website!

I guess you won't be posting a link to Condom Scat's Apple II archives
because there aren't any!

If y'all ask me, you guys sound like a bunch of 12 year olds,
but that's just me, a 50 year old grown up adult. :o)

If you're not taking meds, you might should very well be. :o)

It was the infighting a few years back with Dr. Tom and everyone else
that made me somewhat less inclined to hang around.

Reminds me - do you still have that Woz case? I got distracted and
forgot about it!

I agree, it is very disturbing to see people hang onto such a
juvenile battle. I mean, some of these folks were in their teens
when it began I can imagine. Time to bury the hatchet and join
forces. That is the only way A2 will remain. :o)

Absolutely. I have the case waiting here for you, but it will
have to wait a couple weeks before I can ship. Do you need
the base, or just the lid???
