Hi everyone,

I have a few DuoDisk drives that have problems with their analog boards;
Drive 1 works, but Drive 2 does not. I have swapped the drives to make sure
the problem resides in the controller and not the drives themselves.

Is there any company out there that can repair these cards? It would be
nice to make these drives fully functional.

Hi Joe,

Finding a company to repair the card might be cost prohibitive. These
Analog
cards do come up on eBay every once in a while. You might also find a
company
that actually has these boards *new* in stock. Sun Remarketing might be
able to help
you out. And finally the easiest route would be to request one in the
CSA2.marketplace
to find someone willing to part out an analog board from another damaged or
broken
duo-disk unit.

Best of luck!

Craig

They are repairable, but, parts are hard to come by these
days. Analog parts such as, resistors, caps, etc... are not
a problem, but TTL parts are. The multifaceted chips are
not made anymore and can be found but with much more
difficulty that ever before. I may have an old board that I
can scavange, but finding them in my mess will be a chore.
I plan to go through all of it over the next few days to see
what I have that I can sell, so I'll let you know if I come
across any boards I can pull parts from. :o) Keep in
touch.
