I think I remember that MouseText had two different characters depending on
which version you had. One was the running man, but in the other version,
it was something else. Anyone know?

Inverted carriage-return symbol and four horizontal lines. (Tested with
KEGS32. AFAIK all IIgs's have the new mousetext.)

To add to Moll's reply, I believe the four horizontal lines were
intended to be used to create the title bar at the top of a window,
providing a look similar to active windows in the Mac OS of the time.
I'd love to get a hold of the book (spotted once or twice on ebay) which
sets out Apple's user interface design guidelines and might include
sections on text-based interfaces for the II line. Does anyone know more
about this?

Also if there is any confusion over the use of the word "inverted", it
refers to an inverse text rendition of the carriage return symbol (an
arrow with a right-angle bend in the middle) - not upside down :)

I found that my platinum IIe has the running man in its Mousetext
character set ... which surprised me, I thought the change had been made
by the time the platinums were being made. Does anyone have info on
exactly which II models had the old/new mousetext chars?

Martin
