1.Anyone have an old style IIe keyboard (working)??? I want to replace
the one in my original IIe (with the brownish key caps and big letters)
but all my spares are the newer type and the key caps don't all fit.

contact me at: email(squiggly "a" thingy)luddite.ca

2.Will the platinum IIe keyboard with the numeric keypad work on a beige
IIe? I realise it won't fit in the case, but I mean will it function
properly?

As far as functioning go, all the IIe keyboards are interchangeable.
When the schools here were running IIes you'd see every combination
of motherboard and case. Sometimes a platinum top with a pan and
motherboard from a pretty early unenhanced beige.

I have keyboards but if possible it'd be easier and cheaper if you
were to get one closer to home. I'm in Canada so everything has to go
through customs.

Do we have interprovincial customs here? ;-)
I'm in Alberta, where are you located?

Hey Hey Hey,

How many other people are in Alberta on this NG as well?

I'm way out in Cold Lake, Alberta.
Originally from Red Deer.

Daysland (pop. 500, about 1 hr SE of Edmonton)... spent a few years in
Red Deer too.

Here I was thinking you were in Florida for some reason.

I may have spoken too quickly, I just checked my spares and I kept
three IIe keyboards but they're all the ones with the black letters.
I'm guessing that you're looking for the one with the white letters.

Thanks for looking. Unfortunately the white-lettered keyboard has a
slightly different switch layout (at least the ones I have)
Strangely, my "old" IIe was made in the US, while all of the later ones
with the keyboard switch and "Canadian" keyboard were made in Ireland.

I guess I am not understanding what keyboard you want here Simon. I might
have what you are looking for on a spare machine in my basement if I knew
exactly.
