I just purchased a HP 49G+ (January 22, 2005) . The serial number on
the back of the calculator is CN4060xxxx where the xxxx are digits as
well. Based on previous posts on this news group, am I to interpret
the manufacturing date as being the 6th week in 2004? That is, did I
purchase a calculator that is nearly one years old? The salesperson I
asked confirmed that these units recently arrived (within the last
week). There was no serial number sticker on the blisterpack.

If my decoding of the manufacturing date is incorrect, please provide
decoding information. Thanks.

that number is actually to identify your calculator at the HP service
(as some said here before) Strange your pack doesn't have a serial
number one it... I bought my hp49g+ december 2004 and the serial number
on the plastic was cna423...
