Anyone know where in Auckland I can lay my hands on a Sipura SPA-3000
ATA VOIP adaptor? Or NZ-wide for that matter....

| Nope. I got mine from VoxillaStore.com when they were still sending via
USPS (post), but they've had so much grief they're not doing it
anymore.
Selling them in NZ would likely require Telepermitting them. I heard
that someone in Aus is going to do their equiv. so you might try
googling com.au for details.

Why would it require a telepermit as its not connecting to telecoms network?

It does have the option of connection to PSTN - see

I really think it is about time this whole idea of a telepermit is dropped and
replaced with something along the lines of the aca tick, seems crazy that one
company and publish standards that aflict anyone who wishes to import and sell
telephone equipment.
