 | I'm about to upgrade from 7.23 to 7.54 and would just like to inquire if
there are any tips before doing this to insure the smoothest upgrade? For
example, should I install this new version in the same directory as the old
one, and basically overwrite the files? Will the new version retain the
settings and configuration of my current browser (I guess not if I install
in the same directory)? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I've seen
postings from various people having issues with version 7.54 and I'd like to
avoid as many problems as possible. I spend too much time on my computer as
it is.

I had no problem with that upgrade, neither passing through any
release in between, nor jumping directly from the first to the latter.
Follow the instructions and you'll be there.
