 | This is the feature I need most, in order to gain control of my e-mail: the ability to establish a view for mail from addresses not in my contacts list.
Currently, I have to go through the "Unread mail" list and manually delete messages, one by one, making sure I do not accidentally delete mail from any contacts. This is an impossibly tedious and time-consuming task. The ability to automatically separate out all of the "no contact" mail would be extremely helpful.
I'm told that there is a way to set up a spam filter to select ONLY "no contacts" mail, but I was unable to get this to work. A VIEW would be much simpler and more flexible than a filter.
..
I'd also like to see the mbox import bug fixed. (I have Opera 7.54 for Linux). I hope this bug is fixed in 7.6 (or is it 8.0 now)?
Fixing this bug is essential. Much f my Linux mail automatically gets diverted to the Linux var file, before Opera can grab it. Once it gets diverted, I can't get it into the Opera system -- Opera crashes when I import mbox files. So I'm forced to maintain TWO separate e-mail systems, one Opera and one KMail! Please, help!
..
One final suggestion: Put the "empty trash" option in the pull-down menus. Currently, there's only one way to empty the trash -- one has to open the cumbersome side-panel with the mouse, then select "Mail", then select "All messages", then right-click on "Trash", then select "Empty". The option is currently hard to find, much less use!

Sorting on 'From' and then looking at the color of the icon in front of the mails should make this task not so hard to do. Even without implementing a new view type. I'm not opposed to adding some more options for filtering though.

The official name has not yet been decided on, but the About page will call it Opera 8.

Ouch, that hurts. I see in our bug tracking system that we got multiple reports for 7.5x, but can't replicate anymore in 7.6/8. So please try with the Opera 8 beta, and if it still crashes Opera for you give a yell.

You can right-click anywhere on the mail panel. I'd think most people keep the mail panel open when handling mail.
But it is a valid wish, it is quite hard to do without the mouse. If the actions wasn't dependent on mail panel focus, I could make a keyboard shortcut that worked all the time.

Agreed, a menu option would be nice. Relatedly(?), I'd also like to see the trash (and spam) on the top level of the tree in the mail panel instead of under "All Messages".
