 | Would be useful if one could jump from an item in the message list to the corresponding contact, if one exists. For instance as an option when right-clicking the sender.
Another option might be to open the properties of the contact directly from the message list.
And why not also show contact info as a tooltip when hovering over the sender field in the message list?

Right-click on the message, 'Go to > Contact'. Shortcut: 'E'.

Ah, useful - hadn't seen that. But it only gives a message list filtered by contact, it doesn't get me to the contact item itself.
And I sustain these:
