 | I realize that M2 is supposedly going to be rebuilt (or at least the IMAP
component) but there is one simple feature that I would like to see added
in Opera 8. The feature is the ability to manually force M2 to reconnect
a specific e-mail account. Periodically one or the other of my IMAP
accounts gets 'stuck', generally with the status message of 'Appending
Message'. When this happens, I have two alternatives. One is to exit
Opera. Not a good choice. The other is to go through the somewhat
obnoxious process of selecting Manage Accounts, picking the hung account,
making a simple edit to the account (add and remove a space to the account
name, for example) and then save the account. When I do that, the
connection to that account drops. If I then do a 'check/send', it will
reconnect and the account will generally behave. Rather than going
through the account editing process, I just want a simple right click menu
option to let me 'reset' the account connection.
I keep hoping that the 'next' release of Opera will fix most of the
annoying bugs associated with M2 (IMAP, Filtering, etc.) but until that
happens, this little feature would be somewhat of a help. (BTW, even with
it's obvious warts, I still prefer to use M2 by far over other
alternatives)

How about Mail > Check/send > Your_account_name ?
Doesn't that accomplish what you're asking for? It seems to do so gere.
