 | Please start adding CSS3 support (see for example http://www.geocities.com/seanmhall2003/css3/ ). I'm sure some of that could be implemented quite easiliy, and it could be a great help for marketing the new major version 8.

We will have support for http://www.w3.org/TR/2004/WD-css3-speech-20041216 in Opera 8.
Opera 7.5 already has partial support for: http://www.w3.org/TR/2002/CR-css3-mediaqueries-20020708/
Which Modules from http://www.w3.org/Style/CSS/current-work (preferably those with the CR state!) do you think Opera should support first? But don't expect such additions in Opera 8.

That's even been there since 7.0 IIRC.

Selectors, Color (esp. 'opacity'; I still think the alpha notation in color values is ill-defined), Values (esp. 'attr()'), Paged Media, List ('::marker', counter)---in that order of importance. AFAIK Text is currently being revised by Fantasai, despite having had reached CR state already, elsewise the support of it and Ruby might be good for the Asian market. I don't need (much of) the UI and Presentation modules, but Opera's (or Hixie's) involvement in WHATWG suggests that you target the intranet and Web application market.

Not in 8.0 or not in 8.x? I expect 8.0 to comply to CSS 2.1 as completely as possible, though. Actually I already expected that from 7.0, but the spec didn't climb publishing states as fast as the software version numbers. Of course correct support for the two exisiting levels of CSS remains more important than experimental support for the next one.

Indeed, that is what we should be aiming for for Opera 8.0.
Beyond that, anything can happen, and nothing will be promosed, as usual :)
