hi there,

Sometimes, when I activate a view, an unread message is selected at firs=
t. =

If I hesitate too long, this message is marked as read, although I didn'=
t =

read it, just spent the time looking for the message I wanted to read =3D=
> =

Would be nice if one could specify the time after which a message is =

marked as read or - even better - to allow the user to disable the =

automatic marking. I.e. to do the job manually, even a mail may have bee=
n =

on display in another view than "unread" - a checkbox or input field in =
=

the "properties"-dialog of each view (or for each mail profile) would be=
=

my favourite solution.

I like to keep those mails I haven't dealt with yet in "unread" status -=
=

that way I have an overview over all the latest mails without having to =
=

assign them to views or give them tags (or before doing that - if I have=
=

no time or nerve to sort them out because I'm going to delete them anywa=
y =

the next day). - This technique is perhaps not intended by the developer=
s, =

but I find it quite good to know which mails have not yet been sorted in=
to =

one of the views - searching through the inbox is genreally not so easy.=
=

An alternative to keeping the "unread" tag might be an "unsorted" view =

that shows all messages that are in no other view.

Bye,

Zak

when You are in unreaded view, try to click "view" button > Mark as readed

(here You have some possibilities including manully mark as readed)
but this will take effect also on newsgroup :/

Automatic marking is off by default, you can already control this (for
views where read messages are shown) using the View button dropdown menu.
