Folks,

It's that time of year again! OSCON talk submissions will soon be due. As
last year, I'd like to find a few experienced members of the community to
comb through the submissions and take on the hard task of deciding who
doesn't get to present. People who have been or are planning on going, of
course.

For everyone else, the theme this year is "New Paradigms". Whatever that
means. Start thinking about what you might want to present.

Do you have a date for submissions? The website does not say and I have
not even gotten my usual OSCON announcement email.

I an initial email in December. They said they would be sending
"real" announcements in January (late) I believe.

Nope. They haven't sent out the announcements yet, but it's bound to be soon.

As I'd like to submit something on dbi-link, I don't think I qualify.
If you think there's some way to avoid even the appearance of conflict
of interest, lemme know. :)

Huh? Why not? As a rule, the people on our decision committee are also
submitting proposals. Otherwise, who would we have?
